The Unity One Platform capabilities support the provision of core features to a wide range of pre-integrated and bespoke consumer and operator applications. Unity One comprises a number of pre-integrated, co-operating platform capabilities and consumer applications together with extensive flexibility points to support operator systems integration and bespoke application development. These capabilities and applications are provided through the Unity Platform and its associated Unity Applications suite.

All Unity One Applications and Unity One Platform capabilities are built to contribute to and lever the power of the Unity One Digital Persona – the accumulation of consumer data acquired from the consumer digital identities in social networks, devices and with the operator. The Unity One Digital Persona is at the heart of the powerful loyalty, advertising and commerce capabilities of the Unity One ecosystem as well as powering the utility of the Unity One application suite.

The Unity One Platform capabilities support the provision of core features to a wide range of pre-integrated and bespoke consumer and operator applications. The Unity One Platform allows Unity One Applications to interact with the consumer and their underlying digital data through the following key capabilities:

• Accounts. The Unity One Platform provides a built-in consumer account capability to support secure registration, login and account management for the full range of Unity One applications. It is recognised that this capability is a key touch-point for operator customisation, integration, (pre-) registration processes, single sign-on and portal integration.

• Digital Data & Digital Persona. The Unity One Platform provides managed access to the consumer’s data allowing applications to manage data sources, the processing of the data through the platform and access to that data for use in applications. The Unity One Platform also provides a powerful amalgamation and expression of the consumer’s digital data through the Unity One Digital Persona that can be used to investigate, analyse and extract value from the consumer’s baseline digital data for use in a wide range of Unity applications

• Extension Capabilities. The Unity One Platform allows the overall Unity One ecosystem to be extended at both the application and platform levels through the following key capabilities:

o    API. The Unity One solution features a flexible and extensible API suite. This interface automatically extends as new capabilities are included within the Unity One Platform and are flagged for exposure to Unity One Applications. Operators and authorised third party developers may utilise the API to customise existing Unity One Applications, create new and bespoke applications or to integrate the Unity One platform directly with existing operator systems.

o    Framework. The Unity One Platform is constructed as a framework that allows the extension of platform level capabilities through the addition of modules. Currently modules are developed to support core platform capabilities and Unity One Applications. However it is intended that a platform extension API will be provided to allow operators and authorised third party developers to enhance and evolve the Unity One Platform with specific capabilities.

o    Agents. The power of the Unity One platform may be extended (as required) to run locally on the consumer device to provide enhanced acquisition of Digital Persona data pertaining to device usage, local caching of Digital Persona data produced by the Unity One Platform and offline execution of thick client Unity Applications.
